#TBT with Boohoo

I was asked by Boohoo to feature in their #TBT campaign and pick a style inspiration and recreate their look with items from the Boohoo online store. I immediately thought of Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw, who’s style became iconic thanks to the super stylist Patricia Field. Her style is relatable to a lot of us because with all the ups and downs that her character goes through, her style adapts and reflects it. I’ve decided to split the post into two parts; the first one is inspired by her fun and experimental spirit which gave us a lot of her memorable outfits throughout the series.

ASOS escape

Last week I turned a quarter of a century old (eek!) and one of my best friends treated me to an amazing girl’s escape to one of the best hotels in Dubai’s palm island. Anantara resort was the perfect staycation in a gorgeous setting. I took the chance to take out my latest ASOS items from their ‘escape’ inspired collection out for a spin. I absolutely love the pattern of this lightweight dress and white backpack, which is very handy and fits everything you would need it to.

Bottega Veneta

It’s no secret that I have an obsession with designer shades and my newest Bottega Veneta sunnies from Vision Direct are definitely a welcomed addition in the scorching 45degree+ heat Dubai has been reaching lately. My rule with sunglasses is to definitely treat it as an investment and buy good quality pairs as cheap ones don’t really protect your eyes from the sun and might cause some serious damage. And who doesn’t like stylish designer sunglasses?

Last Thursday I attended the Galleries Night at Al Serkal Avenue here in Dubai which is a pretty cool hidden gem in Dubai that consists of a series of warehouse lots that are each a gallery showcasing local talents from paintings to clothes and much more. It was great seeing so many creative people come together and view what Dubai’s local artists had to offer.

Travel Diaries: Armenia – April 24th Centennial

I was very fortunate to be able to attend this year’s April 24th commemorations in Armenia as it marked 100 years since the Armenian Genocide. Ofcourse every year we remember and commemorate our ancestors, but this year was a very different experience to me. Not only because it was the centennial but actually being in Armenia had a completely different feel than any other year. People were all there united under the same cause and the city was alive with the armenian diaspora visiting from all across the world. Highlights included visiting the April 24th memorial, System of a down free concert, and seeing old friends and meeting new ones from across the world.

Travel Diaries: Kuala Lumpur

Stopping over in Malaysia on my way to Australia from Dubai last January was a great little getaway and a chance for me to see my dear friend Christina who was working there. She was a great tour guide and it definitely wouldn’t have had been the same if I didn’t have a local showing me around. Some of the places we went to in the short 3-day trip were the Thean Hou Temple, the Putra Mosque in Putrajaya, the observatory and revolving restaurant on top of KL tower and a lot more.
PS. how amazing was my hotel room view?

FASHION SHOW: VAMFF National Showcase

Personally, I think the National Graduate Show each year is the most exciting show. Talented graduates from RMIT (Melbourne) and UTS (Sydney) get to showcase their creations in an influential fashion festival and it is a treat for everyone attending to get to experience their debut. The new designers this year included: LAUREN ACCIARITO (RMIT), DONALD CHUNG (UTS), ERICA DELUNCHI (UTS), MONICA DUGGAN (UTS), VANESSA EMIRIAN (UTS), FELICITY GLEESON (UTS), NATALIE KIELEITHNER (RMIT), ALEXANDRA LOUISE CHAMPION HACKETT (RMIT), MEGAN MCGRATH (UTS), SOFIE THE (UTS), APRIL YAP (UTS), RACHEL ZHENG (UTS).
